Flowers for the next exposition!

This is the first flower I painted in a series of flower still-lifes. This rose is a rarity, because it is striped and coloured exactly as the most expensive tulips from the 16th and 17th century.
I will paint these flower-still-lifes in my contemporary way, but within keepin of this Dutch tradition, set in a vase against a dark background, with the emphasis on the texture, color and light of the flowers.
